Papua New Guinea Champion Team to represent the country in the Oceania Champions League, is Lae City FC
We did it again this time burying Hekari United FC to take the honours to play in the OFC Champions League.
A sensational 2 strikes from wonder boy Nemba Mathew David in the final 5 minutes of the match saw Lae City FC breaking Hekari United FC dreams for the OFC Champions League.
Hekari United FC knew we will give them a run for their money and they came all over us in the first half, frustrating us both in defence and attack and they took the lead at the break 1 – 0.
But our never say die attitude in the second half saw us taking the advantage by concentrating on playing simple and sticking to our game plan. Hekari were more on going physical but we maintain our composure and it paid off, defeating Hekari United 1 – 2 in the final moments.
Thank you to all our supporters who came to support us. Big thank you to our chairman Ian Chow MBE and sponsor Lae Biscuit Company Ltd. Thank you to the management and staff of Lae Biscuit and our support sponsors, Raumai 18 Ltd, Prima, Lae City Authority and Hon John Rosso.
